I’m a senior sports media major at Oklahoma State University originally from Kansas City, Missouri.
Since high school, I have written several articles about youth and politics, University of Missouri athletics and my beloved Kansas City Chiefs for a newspaper based in southeastern Missouri called ‘The Crossroad’. In 2012 I was asked by a member of the VisitKC staff to be a part of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game Social Media Command Center – or MLBASGSMCC for short. I want to think that it was because of my social media communications skills and wealth of baseball knowledge, but it was probably because I knew a few people in the VisitKC office, but that’s the beauty of this business. The following year, I worked for the SMCC again during the MLS All-Star Game and enjoyed it just as much as the first time, so sports communications became my new passion.
